As the Wheatbelt Film Festival makes its debut, this is your opportunity to showcase your creative talent. Western Australia wants your films. We want your films. Whether you have a smartphone, a plastic camera or a high-end cinema kit, it doesn't matter. The art of film is "story-telling."
The York Town Hall has been booked for the Wheatbelt Film Festival on Sunday, 29 November 2026. Film submissions begin on 6 September 2026 and is open for nine weeks. Film entries are open to everyone in Western Australia, with the broad theme of "West Australia." Submissions close on 9 November 2026.
All submissions must be made through Film Freeway. First prize is $1000 in each category. We will be selecting the three finalists from each round, and these will be screened at the grand final at the York Town Hall, Avon Terrace, York, WA, 6302, at 2:00pm on Sunday, 29 November 2026, where winners will be announced. All successful entries to the finals will be notified by 16 November 2026

Your film must not be made public on any platform prior to the Wheatbelt Film Festival screening on 29 November 2026.
Open to Western Australian residents only. May be filmed on any camera, smartphone, or tablet. All genres with theme "West Australia" are accepted.
Your film may be submitted as early as 6 September 2026, and submissions remains open for nine weeks, and closes 9 November 2026. No late submissions can be accepted.
Minimum size of video is FHD of 1920x1080. Your film must be in MP4 or MOV formats.
